Career and Awards
His work is located throughout southern Scotland and northern England and typically includes new build houses in coastal, rural or urban locations; interesting and innovative house renovation and extensions; sketch design & feasibility studies for community projects.
In 2004 he began work with Crallan and Winstanley Architects in Castle Douglas. Notable work included; project architect on a multi award winning, innovative new house in Portling and for the new farm shop for the unique community at Loch Arthur.
In late 2001 he started work with ARPL Architects in Ayr and was project architect for many projects in sensitive rural and urban areas of Dumfriesshire and Ayrshire.
John joined Robert Potter and Partners in Dumfries as a graduate in 1999, becoming fully qualified as an architect in 2000.
John’s career started as a Technician with Cowie Torry Architects in Ayr in 1988 until 1993 when he left to study architecture full time at Edinburgh College of Art.
